I wanted to make a card last night for Nick who got a new job yesterday. It is always interesting try out the challenge on one of my favourite site the Heart2Heart Challenge created by my Close to My Heart consultant friends.
Here is my response to the challenge:
All Close to My Heart Materials unless stated otherwise:
Stamps: 4 My Friend (D1510), star stamp from Elemental Workshop to Go.
Paper: Footloose Paper Pak
Inks: Lagoon, Pear, Creme Brulee, and assorted markers
Embellishments: Lagoon and Pear buttons, chipboard circle and badge button, White Daisy grosgrain ribbon dyed, Crystal Blue and Olive Waxy Flax, Mini Pearls.
Techniques:
Sponging: ribbon one side is Lagoon, the other side is Pear. Chipboard circle is sponged in Lagoon, stars are distressed with Pear.
Hand Drawing and Printing:
Since the background paper for Footloose has irregular shaped ovals I drew my sentiment ovals myself and stamped the sentiment inside.I used markers to outline and then glued onto creme brulee side of the paper and cut out.White gel pen was used to create dots along the edge.
I didn't have a stamp that said "for your new job" so I printed it myself.
Dying Grosgrain Ribbon:
Use sponge dauber - ink and draw along the ribbon which is placed flat on the table. I used two colours for a varigated look.

ReplyDeleteWhat a super fun card! I can't decide what I like best about your card. The ovals are adorable, the stamping on them is a subtle yet powerful touch, and that little pin with its froufy ribbon is too cute. Thanks for taking the H2H sketch challenge!
